Service Desk Technician

About The Role
Due to the expansion of the business we currently have an exciting opportunity for an IT Technician to apply their knowledge and expertise in a Service Desk Technician role. 

The role will require your sound communication, planning and IT skills to assist and advise key stakeholders and line management. The position also provides an opportunity to work in a fast-growing IT and data management company, that encourages personal development and independent thinking.

Duties will include:

  • Handling incoming incidents and requests via telephone and email, including assessment, prioritisation and investigation in line with Incident Management and Request Fulfillment processes.
  • Providing support for workstation, phone, server and network technologies.
  • Following internal documented processes and procedures, to ensure incident and request resolution are completed to agreed Organisation Level Agreements.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting Server and Network incidents and acting according to departmental processes
  • Administration of internal support systems
  • Collaborating with other internal IT teams to work towards the achievement of departmental objectives, and thus aligning to business objectives.
  • Delivering an exceptional degree of customer service; ensuring that our customers benefit from clear communications and effective resolution.

Working Hours:

37.5 hour week, working a 7.5 hour shift on a rota basis between 6am and 10pm Monday to Sunday (5 out of 7 days)

About You

The successful applicant will have:

  • A genuine interest and enthusiasm for IT support and management of IT systems.
  • Be currently working towards a relevant qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The desire to identify, analyse and troubleshoot problems.

You should ideally have some experience in the following;
  • Windows desktop and server operating systems.
  • SQL Server technologies.
  • Active Directory Domain Services.
  • Microsoft Office and other workstation software.
  • Standard networking services and protocols.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework.
